2nd Annual DreamAcres for Autism Paws of Honor Festival

 

This is one BIG Party for the Pups! The Kirby Family Farm has gone to the Dogs!

The Dream Acres for Autism’s Paws of Honor Festival at Kirby Family Farm is all about Paws for a Cause! Your enjoyment and attendance will benefit Dream Acres for Autism, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization that trains rescue dogs as service dogs for children with autism and related disabilities. This is a sensory friendly event.

Join us February 13 and 14th for a day or a weekend of fun and learning. You can meet Scooby-Doo and Shaggy from Cartoon Network, Star Wars characters presented by 501st Legion, Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses (as seen on NBC’s Today Show), 2016 Mrs. Elite American, Patrick Gibson, and more! Live entertainment too! You will get the chance to meet all types of service animals over the weekend and lots of other furry friends too in our petting area!

There’s games and contests for owners and dogs that wish to enter including Best Singing Duo, Best Dancing Duo, Dog & Owner with best Swagger, Best Dog Trick, and Best Limbo Duo and more. Also On-Going Supervised Doggy Play Activities like Obstacle Course (2 Levels of Challenge), Pet-Safe Nontoxic Bubbles, Hidden Treasures (Shell game), plus Doggie Kissing Booth.  Sensory Friendly Pet Contests for our Kids ages 3-4, 5-12, 12-17, and Adults. On Sunday, 2016 Mrs. Elite American will crown our Doggie King and Queen.

The Kirby Family Farm’s historic railroad will be running throughout the weekend along with the carousel. The farm’s other fun amusement rides will be in operation too and included FREE with your Day Pass donation.

It’s a whole weekend of fun so spend a day or everyday! Everyone is invited! The first 500 Weekend Super Pass children will receive a special Scooby-Doo gift to keep!

Friday, February 12, is Education Day where guests can go from station to station learning about animal care, behaviors, and more.

What are the Dates and Times?

Saturday, February 13th and Sunday, the 14th, 2016, are the Battle days! Gates open at 10:00 AM and close at 4pm. Throughout the day you can enjoy activities, entertainment, celebrity meet and greets, rides, and more.

 

I'm a Teacher or Home School parent, where can I get Education day information?

Education day will be held on Friday, February 12th, from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Schools and Home schoolers, are encouraged to register early for this unique learning experience for all ages. Several learning stations will be set up throughout the farm with presenters sharing knowledge and offering hands on demonstrations. Please realize on Education day amusement rides will not be in operation. Can I purchase tickets in advance?
You can Pre-Register! Space is limited for each night of operation. To best serve our guests and ensure that they are able to enjoy every aspect of the day, we recommend pre-registration for admission.

 

Where do I Pre-register for tickets?
You can Pre-register online at our Online Ticket Center. In the event tickets are still available, they will be available at the gate. If you plan on waiting until the day of the event PLEASE check in advance for availability.

 

 

 

 

How much are tickets and who needs one?
Children 2 and under are FREE! Everyone else ages 3 and up, even Adults, is Child’s price because a visit to Kirby Family Farm brings out the child in all of us!

 

Day Pass: Saturday or Sunday, General Admission Daily Pass $10 in advance, $15 at the gate if available. Your General Admission Daily Pass includes admission onto the farm the day you select, train rides, carousel rides, all basic activities, shows, celebrity appearances, entertainment, and more.

 

Weekend Super Pass: Friday-Sunday, Weekend Super Pass $15 in advance, $20 at the gate if available. Your Weekend Super Pass is valid the entire Paws of Honor Weekend, Friday-Sunday. It includes everything the General Admission Daily Pass offers plus, entry all weekend including the Friday Education Day, an unlimited ride wristband for all additional amusement rides (see website for list), entry fees for contests (space is limited), and more.

Additional cost and/or restrictions may apply to food purchases, professional photos, animal food to feed our animals, and souvenirs.

 

What are will-call tickets?
Guests may need to pick up their tickets at our will-call kiosks upon arrival. Our friendly volunteer family members will be on hand to assist with will-call tickets. Please have photo ID and confirmation number for verification.

 

May I bring my pet to this event?
Yes! Friendly dogs are welcome with shot current shot records. Our furry friends must be on a leash/lead at all times, no longer then 4 feet in length.

 

Are there any refunds or exchanges if I cannot attend?
There are no refunds or exchanges. We recommend that you verify your dates with family and friends before purchasing tickets. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost, stolen, or destroyed. Due to overwhelming demand, tickets are only valid for the event, date, and time for which they were issued.

 

What time should I arrive?
Gates open at 10am. We can not admit guests onto the farm or have food services available to you until 10am. The first train leaves at 10:15am and trains run each half hour.

 

Where exactly is The Party for The Pups Paws of Honor Festival located?
The Party for The Pups can be found at Kirby Family Farm, a 501c3 Not for Profit Educational destination located in Williston, Florida. On Valentines weekend, February 13-14, 2016 the Kirby Family Farm goes to the dogs and all our furry friends. For travel directions, check out our Map & Directions.

 

 

 

 

Are there places to eat at the event?
We offer a variety of concessions on the farm. You can expect to find a tasty selection of food items available for purchase. We also offer modern meal combos, Barbecue, Fresh hamburgers, hotdogs, kettle corn, funnel cakes, ribbon fries, boiled peanuts, and more. Prices are comparable to fast-food restaurants. We offer picnic tables to enjoy your meal.

 

May we bring our own coolers with food and drink?
Sorry, we do not permit coolers or outside food or beverages onto the Kirby Family Farm. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises.

 

What about large groups?
We are able to accomodate any size groups with advance registration. Bus access is available. Groups of 50 or more with advance registration can ride on thier own railroad car, groups of 200 or more can ride on thier own train. For groups of 20 or more we can arrange custom package values that can include meal vouchers and additional featured activities. We encourage large groups to arrive no later then 9:30 to be able to enjoy the first train ride out, enabling them to enjoy other activities as thier schedule allows. What happens in the case of inclement weather?
This event is rain or shine. We do everything in our power to remain open for all event dates. In the case of high winds we may not be able to offer all activities for safety reasons. The Paws of Honor Festival does not give refunds or exchanges to those who are unable to attend their scheduled day due to weather conditions. In the rare case of a cancellation, we will post a notice online, as well as update our main phone recording at 352-812-7435. Tickets for an upcoming date or future visit may be offered at the discretion of managment in the event of a cancellation.

 

What can I bring with me?
Camcorders and cameras are welcome. Folding chairs and blankets are welcome. Profanity, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and firearms are not permitted on the premises. Smoking and tobacco use is permitted in designated smoking area only.

 

Is this event wheel chair and stroller accessible?
Kirby Family Farm has hosted several guests in wheelchairs and strollers. The train is wheelchair accessible. We recommend you use discretion as it is a farm and the terrain is as such.

 

All monies received are collected as a donation supporting the cost and development of the Kirby Family Farm in whole as well as each individual activity.
